The Day After Christmas
V1
The Day After Christmas The place is a mess
The house overflowing with overnight guests
It was two in the morning when the bar called “last call”
It felt like a family so I invited them all
V2
We sang all the carols as best as we could
The guy in the Santa suit knew most the words
But he finally passed out at a quarter to four
And the singin’ just stopped when he hit the floor
CH
The Day After Christmas is always the day
You clean up and throw out the messes you made
Turkey bones, beer bottles Fall-away friends
It’s another new day to start over again
V3
The Day After Christmas I woke up at dawn
I saw Santa’s dog, Rudloph, tied up on my lawn
That Elf girl who kept making moon-eyes at me
Had found her a taker right under my tree
My Christmas wish was to not be alone
but The Day After Christmas I sent ‘em all home
Listen real close and maybe you’ll hear it
Peace on Earth.. that’s your holiday spirit
CH repeat

Underneath the Christmas Tree
V1
Underneath the Christmas Tree
That’s the place I long to be with you
Tinsel in your hair..presents
Everywhere I look there’s flashing lights
What a way to spend the night
With you Decorating me
Underneath the Christmas..
BR
We don’t need the mistletoe
We’re wrapped together well
Holidays can simply floor you
Can you tell how I adore you
(solo!) AHHHH…AHHHH
BR
We don’t need the mistletoe
We’re wrapped together well
Holidays can simply floor you
Can you tell how I adore you
V2
Brush the needles from your sleeve
Such a splendid Christmas Eve
With you..you’re such a sight to see

The Twelve Days of Christmas
V1
On December 13th’ I flew Across seven time zones to
A place to reflect on what to buy 12-ex-wives..this Christmas time
On the 14th I bought some jewels On the 15th a box of tools
The 16th was a day of words Nouns and verbs
Of books that bind prose and rhyme

A pear tree for your friend
V2
On December seventeen I bought a semi-pro hockey team
Eighteen sent me to the mall where I bought all the bowling balls
From the 19th to the 24th I found out just how much I was worth
My credit cards got torn in two which clearly proved I overdrew
CH

V3
I woke up on Christmas Day
In a storefront window display
Surrounded by a dozen elves in boots and bells
Who tried to spell my name in lights with a dozen L’s

Out of Season
V1
Summer’s come and gone
But all those holdouts keep hangin’ on
Until the sun slips down into the sea
Then finally they leave
V2
They book their flights back home
With seaside pictures lighting up their phone
Suitcase treasures; silver sand and shells
And sunburnt skin as well
CH
Out of Season is fine again
The beach and the streets are all mine again
The sound of the tide’s like a long-lost friend
Out of Season Out of Season again
V3
Drinking Yuletide beer
Christmas lights strung up and down the pier
This town shuts down every Labor Day
I’ve got no reason to stay
(Except)
